Our new charity project 'Seasons'

Over the Easter holidays we both turned into busy musical bees, preparing for our latest charity project 'Seasons'.

We're excited for 'Seasons' as it will be the first time all of the Greenside Musicians are able to take part; up until now our projects have mainly involved members of the Greenside Groups. All musicians are invited to embrace their creative side, either by writing short stories or poems, taking photographs, or drawing pictures, all with the theme of 'seasons'. These will be compiled into a booklet which will accompany a CD that will be sold in Autumn 2014 to raise money for Children in Need.

Catherine has selected three of her piano students to perform one of her specially composed pieces that will be recorded for the CD (the autumn pianist is yet to be decided):

Emma Highfield (aged 12) - Wondrous Beginnings (Spring)

Here is a video of Emma last year performing Tapping Heels.

Sophie Kirby (aged 14) - Finding Sanctuary (Summer)
Here is a video of Sophie two years ago performing River Flows in You.

Debbie Nicholson (adult) - Guiding Star (Winter)
Here is a video of Debbie from last year performing Cantilena.

We have written four songs for the Greenside Choir to perform, lyrics by Georgina and music by Catherine:
The Tiniest Seed (Spring)Lazy Daze (Summer)
The Music of the Wind (Autumn)
Simple Things (Winter)

In 2012 Greenside Choir donated £300 to the charity Operation Smile through the sale of their CD Smile

Catherine is busy composing four pieces: two for Greenside Ensemble, and two for Greenside Glockateers to record for the CD.

Here is the latest video of Greenside Ensemble, performing I Cain't Say No  that they will be performing in the upcoming Greenside Summer Showcase in July.

Here is a video of Greenside Glockateers from last year performing Fireworks:

As this is the first time we've shared our videos with people who are not directly linked to Greenside Music we are interested to know what people think, and would like to know if other people do anything similar. Please share!
